مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَطْلُبُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا مِنْ طُرُقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ لَتَضَعُ أَجْنِحَتَهَا رِضًا لِطَالِبِ الْعِلْمِ وَإِنَّ الْعَالِمَ لَيَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَالْحِيتَانُ فِي جَوْفِ الْمَاءِ وَإِنَّ فَضْلَ الْعَالِمِ عَلَى الْعَابِدِ كَفَضْلِ الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الْكَوَاكِبِ وَإِنَّ الْعُلَمَاءَ وَرَثَةُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَإِنَّ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ لَمْ يُوَرِّثُوا دِينَارًا وَلَا دِرْهَمًا وَرَّثُوا الْعِلْمَ فَمَنْ أَخَذَهُ أَخَذَ بِحَظٍّ وَافِرٍ

Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, then Allah will ease for him the path to Paradise. Verily, the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge. Verily, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, even the fish in the depths of the water, will seek forgiveness for the scholar. Verily, the virtue of the scholar over the worshiper is the superiority of the moon over the stars. Verily, the scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets. They do not leave behind gold or silver coins, but rather they leave behind knowledge. Whoever has taken hold of it has been given an abundant share.

Anas ibn Malik, RadhiAllahu Anhu, reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said:

طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

Who is this course for?

The Alim Course is suitable for every seeker of knowledge that wants to study Islam from basic to an advanced level under the tuition of an experienced teacher.

Are there any prerequisites for the course?

The only prerequisites are that the student can read the Qur’an fluently; i.e the Arabic alphabet, as well as make sure he/she attends the weekly lessons and studies. These three conditions are needed in order for the student to learn.

Timings and Tuition Fees

Timings for the Alim course, on-site and online:

Saturdays and Sundays 9am – 3pm

The tuition fees are as follows per term/semester:

Year 1: £300

Year 2: £325

Year 3: £350

Year 4: £375

Year 5: £400

Year 6: £450

There are three semesters in the year.

What if I have studied some of the initial years of the Alim Course with some other institute/madrasah and want to join your institute?

It is possible to join in the later years of the course, but one has to speak with us in order to be examined by our teachers. Contact us at info@darul-ilm.co.uk for more information.
