The Sab’ah Qira’at Course is a specialised programme designed for students who seek mastery in the seven recognised methods of Qur’anic recitation, as revealed to the Prophet ﷺ and preserved through an unbroken chain of transmission (Sanad).

This course develops both technical excellence in recitation and deep appreciation of Qur’anic preservation, allowing students to understand and embody the sacred tradition of transmission that has safeguarded the Qur’an for generations.

Upon successful completion of recitation across all seven Qira’at, students will be granted Ijazah, authorising them to recite and teach the Qur’an with confidence and authenticity under scholarly supervision.

This certification represents a direct connection to the chain of transmission that traces back to the Prophet ﷺ, through Jibraeel عليه السلام, and ultimately to Allah ﷻ.

Course Outline:

Year 1:

Advanced Tajweed studies

Completion of Riwayat Hafs and Shu’bah

Foundational (Usooli) principles of Qira’at Sab’ah

Year 2:

Completion of the Qur’an in all seven Qira’at

Study of Al-Shatibiyyah (Ḥirz al-Amānī wa Wajh al-Tahānī)

Preparation for Ijazah certification

Prerequisites:

Fluent Qur’an recitation

Strong understanding of Tajweed rules
