Reverts Course (for Brothers and Sisters)

Reverts Course
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Brakatuhu!
A warm welcome to any revert sisters looking to learn more about their religion! We hope you are well!! You have completed one of the most important pillars of Islam by declaring the Shahadah – but it doesn’t stop just there. Now is the time to learn so much more about this beautiful religion and all the things it consists of.
Darul Ilm Birmingham, with its qualified Ulama (scholars), has designed a course specifically for new Muslims who have just entered the Deen. As well as teaching the basics, we also have tea breaks where we break the ice, socialize and make new friends on the same journey as ourselves. We understand that in many instances, reverting can be a very isolating and lonely experience (especially without the support of family) and that is why we aim to make this transition as easy as possible for you.
Subjects that will be covered in this course are Tajweed, Fiqh, and Seerah.
Now, you may be nervously thinking what on earth do these words mean?! Don’t worry my friend, for shall I go into it in more detail now.
Tajweed is learning how to pronounce Arabic and reading the Quran. The Quran – unlike the Arabic language – has special rules that need to be followed during its recitation. Learning Tajweed will enable you to not only fulfill this objective of reciting the Quran fluently but also being able to read your Salah (5 daily prayers) and Duas (supplications) brilliantly as well.
The Messenger of Allah, peace, and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter.” The Messenger of Allah, peace, and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter.” (Tirmidhi)
Fiqh is jurisprudence, and in less posh words, it is basically how to fulfill your daily obligations, whether it is hygiene, how to perform various acts of worship like the prayer, Zakah (charity), Hajj (pilgrimage), transaction, dealing with people, etc.
Last but not least, we will also be going through the Seerah, which is the biography of the last and final messenger, Muhammad (PBUH). This includes his birth, death, childhood, youth, Prophethood, boycott, expeditions, His victories, and His losses. This subject will make you familiar with who this great man is, what he strove for in his life and the legacy which he left behind.
Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. People do not gather in the houses of Allah, reciting the book of Allah and studying it together, but that tranquillity will descend upon them, mercy will cover them, angels will surround them, and Allah will mention them to those near him.
